By creating this surrealist portrait art I hoped to evoke a sense of interest in the viewer and make them discover something distinctive and beautiful.
I understand our eyes have unique tastes in what they consider to be beautiful is simply a matter of individual perception.
No one in this world thinks in the same way and differs in opinion.
When I first looked at my finished painting I asked myself: “Is it me or is it just an illusion?” But what is an illusion? A trick? A phantom? A phenomenon?
Our sense of self is an illusion and everything that makes up any of our preferences is simply the outer world reflecting back into us.
While chasing after illusions, better looks, and trying to meet the standards imposed by society, we forget that beauty has more to do with a natural look.
Finding inner peace, being present, and knowing your true self creates true beauty.
Taking time to understand and love your true nature without focusing on other people’s appearance and possessions allows us to experience and radiate beauty.
By looking at this static, frozen-in-time abstract female face painting with one big eye I embrace her real beauty.
The light in her heart, the beauty that comes from living in the fullest expression of herself, being who she is, saying what she thinks, and being herself without fear.
The beauty that comes from “imperfection.”
Everyone is beautiful in their own way, which we fail to see many times.
